WELCOME TO RELIGIOUS EDUCATION! COME LEARN WITH US!
WELCOME TO RELIGIOUS EDUCATION! COME LEARN WITH US!
Your preparations actually began last year! We have quite a bit to do to prepare you for receiving the Sacrament!
If you attend a public, magnet, or private high school you will be taking classes with us from September until April. Your preparations continue through the summer after freshman year until you make your Confirmation (usually in autumn of sophomore year).
If you attend a Catholic high school you will have a Religion class every day at your school. Thus, we only require that you attend classes with us from late January through early April. Your preparations continue through next summer and into the autumn. See below for calendar of due dates of your requirements.
Your parents will be given all of the information on the Requirements for our Confirmation program. You don't drive yet, so they must be onboard and help you get to classes, masses, community service events, interview, retreat, rehearsal....you get the idea. See the list at the bottom of this page.
PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ARRIVE EARLY BEFORE DISMISSAL AT THE FIRST CLASS, SEPT. 11 OR 12 FOR IMPORTANT INFO RE: CONFIRMATION PROGRAM.
Registration is your first step. Click on the left hand tab entitled Updates and Registration for dates and information. You must formally register before you are considered a Confirmation Candidate. Registration for public, private, and Catholic high schools takes place NOW. Don't wait! MAIL IN THOSE COMPLETED FORMS AND TUITION TODAY!
Knowing your class start date, time, location is your next step.
Start thinking now about your Confirmation Name and a Catholic in your life who would make the best Sponsor. (note: it cannot be a parent)
Start writing down any community service you do this summer and into freshman year. You will be required to do at least 20 hours of service. Get an adult supervisor's signature for each item. After school activities do not count. It must be service to someone.
The next year and a half will be a journey. Your teachers, director, pastor, deacons, and parents can all help you. See you in mid-September!

It is your child’s responsibility to complete all requirements on time. The Director or your child’s Catechist will be directly addressing behavior, Mass & class attendance, deadlines & requirements with your child, not usually with parents. They are Candidate responsibilities.
Catechists (teachers) and Interviewers (priests and deacons) will suggest to the Director which Candidates are ready to receive the Sacrament and who may not be ready.
We ask that parents do everything in their power to assist their Candidate in their preparations including attending Mass together, driving Candidate to all classes, proof reading required papers, and keeping in touch with the Catechist and Director.
